Landmark for largest healthcare provider

Voice Technologies has helped NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, one of Europe’s biggest healthcare providers, reach a major milestone, while boosting efficiency.

Thanks to the digital dictation supplier, the health board now has 2,030 WinScribe users. The software is expected to save the health board at least 25 per cent in turnaround times for correspondence, as well as reducing clinical risk through increased accuracy.

One of the first sites in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to take advantage of Voice Technologies’ solutions was the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, which improved turnaround times by 50 per cent.

Also, very quickly after being commissioned, Voice Technologies had WinScribe up and running in the ambulatory care facilities at the Victoria Infirmary and Stobhill Hospital, allowing clinicians to send their dictation to secretaries located at other hospitals in the city.

Voice Technologies wins
access to English Trusts
  Contact us

A new framework contract is giving more than 200 NHS organisations in England the chance to access solutions from Voice Technologies to help meet targets.

The company has won a place on the Yorkshire and Humber Commercial Procurement Collaborative. This will mean organisations such as Hospital Trusts, Mental Health Partnerships and Primary Care Trusts can quickly access digital dictation, speech recognition and outsource transcription.

Voice Technologies is already on a similar framework for the NHS in Scotland. For more information on this story, Click here

High standards in the Highlands

With numerous sites widely spread, sending analogue dictation can be an issue for NHS Highland. Thanks to digital solutions from Voice Technologies, that is no longer a problem.

Dictation management software WinScribe, along with Philips and Olympus devices, is being installed at 20 sites across the Health Board.

Already, Voice Technologies has deployed WinScribe to 241 users, as well as given them training, in a period of four weeks.

Alistair Graham, Sales and Technical Director of Voice Technologies, said: “This will make a huge difference to NHS Highland’s commitment to the 18 Week Referral to Treatment pathway requirements.”

Security as standard   Getting results

Security is a main priority of Voice Technologies – and it now has certification to prove it.

In June, the company’s information management systems were given the seal of approval for meeting the international standard ISO 27001:2005.

“This award can give our clients extra reassurance that we operate to the highest security standards,” explained Chief Executive Heather Wylie.

Thanks to using WinScribe, installed and supported by Voice Technologies, NHS Dumfries and Galloway has cut its typing backlogs across many clinical specialties using the system to below three weeks. It is on course to reduce this further to meet its 10-day target.

Software supports encryption   Did you know?

A new piece of software has been launched by Voice Technologies, WinVoiceImporter, which will help boost the security of sensitive dictation files.

The application supports the encryption of files on dictation devices, allowing the audio on them to be decrypted and more easily linked with the leading dictation management software WinScribe.

The software is available at no cost for NHS Boards in Scotland under the framework agreement in Scotland.

Homerton Hospital in London, is using Voice Technologies' WinVoicePro software. Thanks to the application, the hospital is cutting its typing backlog and dependency on agency staff.

NHS Borders hears the benefits

NHS Borders is enjoying more effective digital dictation solutions from Voice Technologies.

Digital dictation solutions incorporating WinScribe have been installed in the Occupational Health department in Borders General Hospital in August.

Heather Wylie, Managing Director of Voice Technologies, said: “Our solutions allows occupational health professionals to send and manage their dictation without travelling miles back to the office, keeping them in the community where they are needed most.”

East coast NHS boards take up WinScribe

NHS Fife and NHS Grampian have adopted dictation management software WinScribe from Voice Technologies.

The software, and portable dictation devices have been provided to the Othopaedics and Urology departments at NHS Fife.

NHS Grampian’s Oncology and Pathology departments have also embraced the time-saving software and hardware.
