WinVoicePro

In collaboration with the NHS in Scotland and England, Voice Technologies developed WinVoicePro to meet the real life needs of healthcare organisations, helping reduce document turnaround times between consultation and letters being sent out to patients.

With its easy to use interface, the software has seen high adoption levels and is a key tool in helping the NHS meet SLA targets, therefore reducing the risk of fines or budget cuts. Plus, further to this, the financial savings that can be attained by implementing WinVoicePro means that partners see a return on investment within only a few months.

5 October 2010 – Leading supplier and developer of digital dictation software Voice Technologies has announced the launch of WinVoicePro version 2 to offer greater efficiency to the NHS and increased document tracking options.

Developed to run seamlessly alongside WinScribe’s digital dictation application, WinVoicePro provides a complete end-to-end solution for letter, report and document creation, filling the void between digital dictation and internal paper distribution. This new version of the software is set to offer all the existing benefits of WinVoicePro, but with improved customisation and enhanced user operability.

Key features to be added to WinVoicePro v2 include; document progress tracking for authors and typists; documents routed directly for countersigning once amended to save time; tailored document signatures for authors; Ribbon bar technology to speed up the training process for new users; and reallocation options for documents should an approver be unavailable.

WinVoicePro v2 has also been redesigned to complement the popular style of Microsoft Office 2007, with all functions fully customisable. Further to this, installations of the software can now take place much more rapidly, easing the roll out of WinVoicePro v2 to multiple machines.

Alistair Graham, Sales and Technical Director of Voice Technologies, says: “WinVoicePro was originally developed in conjunction with an NHS panel and we have continued to work closely with our customers to develop software that best meets the real life needs of the NHS. As such, many of our users’ suggestions have been incorporated into WinVoicePro v2, including allowing senior doctors to verify documents and ensuring document authors and typists are able to track the progress of each document.

“The range of new features in WinVoicePro v2 offers enhanced functionality and will enable NHS organisations to make measurable savings in both time and costs, with the software providing a simpler, streamlined solution for medical administration.”

WinVoicePro has recently been awarded the status of Microsoft Silver ISV Competency, with current users of the software including NHS Tayside, Homerton University NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Highland and NHS Dumfries & Galloway.

WinVoicePro – A Tailored Solution for the NHS

The combination of WinVoicePro powered by WinScribe is an unrivalled solution for document creation, with six NHS Trusts and Boards already having signed up for the software since it launched in March 2010. In addition, return on investment is guaranteed within only a few months through the removal of internal printing and distribution costs, which further helps the NHS to meet efficiency saving targets.

WinVoicePro is an integration and distribution that has been designed to work seamlessly alongside WinScribe to provide a complete end-to-end solution for letter, report and document creation within the NHS.

The software links directly with an organisation’s Patient Administrative System, Electronic Patient Record or Document Management System to allow users to send documents for amends and approval electronically – filling the void between digital dictation and internal paper distribution.

The primary goal of WinVoicePro is to further reduce the administration time of medical documents to help the NHS meet targets through more efficient and cost-effective working, while increasing accuracy of patients’ details and ensuring documents are dispatched in a timely manner.

Key features:

  • Documents are sent for review electronically, both within the same site and across a network, removing printing and distribution costs and allowing NHS organizations to see a return on investment in only a few months
  • Files are delivered immediately on completion of transcription, ensuring deadlines are met and no documents are missed
  • The software links directly with an organisation’s Patient Administrative System, Electronic Patient Record or Document Management System to capture patient details
  • WinVoicePro automatically populates standard letter templates with episode details and patient demographics to reduce risk of error, which is aided by the use of unique patient identifiers
  • The administrative time saved by medical secretaries allows them to incorporate other aspects into their job role
  • Security of data is guaranteed through encryption and newly verified documents are automatically routed to the relevant part of patient records, which can only be viewed by approved personnel
